The 5G Innovation corridor is a European project powered by DKV and organized by Garage Stories and the Mobile World Capital Barcelona to explore the potential of intelligent connectivity and new technologies applied to environmental action as a proactive attitude towards personal wellbeing. We aim at fostering new connections between creatives and technologists worldwide to develop innovative projects that can help people evolve from environmental awareness into action. In short:

Help society adapt their lifestyle and consumption patterns

to improve humans' health by taking

better care of the planet.

The winner will be presented at the Mobile World Capital 2022 stand under the framework of MWC Barcelona 2022 and will receive 3,000 euros and mentorship help from DKV to be developed.

SPEAKERS

14-24 February, leading up the the event, will take place virtual live sessions with experts all over the world in environmental action, wellbeing, storytelling, design, etc; so as to inspire and prepare participants for the Hackathon.

Sessions will take place Monday to Thursday at 18h CET.

All the sessions will all be recorded and made available for free to anyone interested in learning more about the subject.

The lab is open to anyone with an interest in improving humans' health while taking better care of the planet: creatives, environmentalogists, innovators, storytellers, data experts, educators, social health experts etc!

We'll accept up to 240 participants (applications can be done in teams up to 3 people) and we'll finally carry several matchmaking sessions to build international and multidisciplinary teams of 3 to 4 people each.

During the weekend, participants will work remotely following a series of masterclasses with experts in environmental action, design thinking, prototyping, storytelling and business modelling + the help of local and international mentors who will be able to assist them remotely.

the outcome

We want to "Hack" the planet's health with a humanistic approach: we are interested in new ideas that can help us change people's behaviours in relation to their lifestyle and their consumption patterns so as to improve humans health.

We want to explore the potential of emerging technologies (XR/AI/5G) to do so, but we are not so interested in your capacity to code an impressive app in 72 hours, but your capacity to empathize with humans and come up with innovative and feasible ideas that help foster a collective transtion to a more sustainable and responsible lifestyle.

We must change the narrative, climate change is a threat to public health but also an opportunity.

We believe that in order to change the world we need not only ideas, but also stories.

Stories that prepare society at large not to ASK for change, but to BE the change,

so we are ready to adopt new behaviours.

We want to feature artists' work that reinforce our message: "it is time to elevate environmental awareness to action". It is not anymore about who wants change, but who is willing to change for its own health and the planet's.

We want to team up with you to highlight the importance of investing in new voices and new stories in such a challenging time where change is not a choice anymore.

We are looking for emerging artists from all disciplines that use their art to advocate for change and we want to feature it on our Social Media as part of our call for action to recruit participants so as to foster collective environmental ACTION!
